Believing in the abilities of children with disabilities as well as the need to integrate them in the community and to spread awareness about their rights, Fista has launched its ongoing Social Inclusion Project “social and behavioral change “for the academic year 2021-2022

This project gives the opportunity to students with disabilities from Fista to partially integrate in several classes, among selected mainstream schools and universities, and also in clubs like scouts, university clubs, sports clubs.

During "partial inclusion", the children with intellectual disabilities attend classes (that are appropriate to their age) all along the academic year: such as physical education, Art, theater, and community service,

At the end of each academic year, FiSTA with the mainstream schools organizes an event “the closure event”. The group of students from each school in collaboration with the group of students from FiSTA chooses the type of presentation that best illustrates the story of success of their inclusion project throughout the year. (Like PowerPoint presentation, documentary, dance, play, choreography or a speech…)

This program aims at accepting and valuing individual differences, as well as, advocating for the rights of PWDs and changing the attitude of the children and youth from different schools, universities and clubs from the region toward the Children showing Intellectual disability by developing more social abilities of children with intellectual disability, promoting their participation in the community, enhancing community engagement and advocacy …….For a better community with no stigma.

“Diversity is an act … inclusion is a fact”
